Yesterday I had a cheerful morning as everything started well but the moment I turned on my Dell laptop and started working to generate a detailed Annual report for the museum I was shocked. After every 10-5 minutes my system was restarting on its own. I did a bit of troubleshooting like unplugging and plugging the Internet and the router cables and turning ‘On’ and ‘Off’ the system but to no use. My mind was practically empty; I called up my vendor from where I purchased the machine he arranged a visit of a technician to look into the matter. He checked and later told that he has nothing to do with the problem as it is not hardware based. This was a really disgusting time in my professional life.
I called up one of my best friends I have. I shared the problem with him. Later on the stupid guy started laughing at me. I would have really blown him down had he not been a close friend of mine. I asked him don’t make fun of my problem and get lost if you can’t do anything. He told me that there is nothing to worry and just called up the phone number to get support for the Dell machine. He gave me the number and I dialed it the next moment. My call was entertained instantly by a polite lady. She greeted as “How may I assist you?” It was a totally new experience in my life. I told her about the problem. She asked the permission to have the remote sharing of the Dell machine. I was a bit hesitating about doing so but she assured me that it’s a very secure line and after the remote is over we don’t be able to access your machine anymore. I agreed to her. The next moment what I could see was the mouse cursor of my computer moving across the monitor screen on the different part of the Control Panel. She applied certain tools on the system and defragmented the hard-disk and optimized the machine. Next, she told me to just restart your Dell machine and everything will be fine and you can resume the normal task.
I did the same and I found that everything was fine. My Dell laptop was running better it took the least time to boot and I took a deep sigh of relief. I started working and around 3:00 PM I was able to complete my whole task. Now, today is the day of audit and I am pretty much content with the report that I have generated. I am thankful to the lady who provided the great support for my Dell laptop through the phone line.
